Professional Conduct Policy for TaraDakin.com

1. Purpose and Scope
This Professional Conduct Policy sets out the expectations and ethical standards for Tara Dakin in the delivery of inclusion services through TaraDakin.com. Tara is a qualified teacher, regulated by the Department for Education (DfE), and a Chartered Psychologist, regulated by the British Psychological Society (BPS). The policy applies to all interactions and engagements with children, schools, staff, carers, and parents.
2. Professional Standards
Tara Dakin commits to:
- Uphold the highest professional standards in line with the DfE Teachers’ Standards and BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct
- Conduct all work with integrity, transparency, and respect
- Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguarding at all times
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Regularly update professional knowledge and engage in continued professional development
- Avoid and declare any conflicts of interest
- Provide clear, evidence-informed recommendations in all reports and consultations
3. Complaints Procedure
TaraDakin.com takes all concerns and complaints seriously.
If a school, parent, or carer wishes to raise a complaint:
- In the first instance, please email tara.dakin@outlook.com with details of your concern
- You will receive a response within 5 working days
- Where appropriate, a meeting or discussion will be arranged to resolve the matter within 14 working days
- If unresolved, complaints may be escalated to the Department for Education (DfE) or the British Psychological Society (BPS), as appropriate
4. Termination of Work Agreement
- All services are provided on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis. Each session must be paid for individually.
- No cumulative fees or outstanding invoices will be permitted.
- Either party may agree to terminate the work agreement at any time, with notice where possible.
- Upon termination, no further services will be delivered or charged.
- Any information held can be deleted immediately upon written request or at an agreed later date, up to a maximum of six years after the final session.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
All personal and professional data is managed in accordance with TaraDakin.com GDPR policy.
You may request deletion of your personal data by emailing tara.dakin@outlook.com.
Data can be deleted immediately or at a specified future date.
No records will be retained longer than six years after the final professional interaction unless legally required.
