1. Policy Statement
TaraDakin.com is committed to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all children, staff, carers, parents, and others involved in its services. This policy outlines the standards and procedures to manage risks effectively and maintain a safe environment during all activities associated with TaraDakin.com, including work within schools, homes, and virtual environments.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all work conducted by TaraDakin.com, including:
- Direct work with children and young people
- Visits to schools and other professional settings
- Interaction with staff, parents, and carers
- Online and remote activities
3. Responsibilities
- Tara Dakin has overall responsibility for ensuring health and safety compliance and risk management for all activities under TaraDakin.com.
- All individuals working with or on behalf of TaraDakin.com must adhere to this policy and report any hazards or incidents promptly.
4. Risk Assessment
- All activities involving children and vulnerable individuals will be risk assessed before commencement.
- Risk assessments will cover physical, emotional, and environmental risks, including safeguarding considerations.
- Any identified risks will be mitigated through appropriate controls, including supervision, environment adaptations, or alternative approaches.
5. Safe Working Practices
- Lone working with children or vulnerable adults is avoided unless risk-assessed and approved by the relevant setting.
- Clear boundaries and professional conduct will be maintained at all times.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be followed as required.
- Digital communication and remote work will follow best practices for safety and privacy.
6. Incident Reporting and Management
- All accidents, injuries, or near-misses must be reported immediately to Tara Dakin and, where relevant, the hosting setting’s health and safety lead.
- A clear written record will be maintained, detailing the incident, actions taken, and any follow-up required.
- Serious incidents will be escalated to relevant authorities promptly.
7. Training and Awareness
- Tara Dakin maintains up-to-date training on health and safety practices, first aid, and safeguarding.
- Relevant training and information will be provided to any associates or collaborators working under TaraDakin.com.
8. Emergency Procedures
- Emergency contact details and procedures will be established before all activities.
- In case of emergency, priority will be given to the safety and welfare of children and others involved.
- Procedures include evacuation, first aid, and contacting emergency services if necessary.
9. Review and Monitoring
- This policy and all related risk assessments will be reviewed at least annually or after any significant incident or legislative change.
- Records of reviews, incidents, and training will be maintained securely.
